TikTok is expanding its latest venture, the subscription-only music streaming service called “TikTok Music,” to new regions. After its debut in Brazil and Indonesia, the service is now available in Australia, Mexico, and Singapore. This expansion allows users in these countries to sync their existing TikTok accounts with the music streaming service, enabling them to listen, download, and share songs seamlessly. With catalogs from major record companies like Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group, and Sony Music, TikTok Music offers a vast library of tracks for its subscribers.
As part of the closed beta test, TikTok has invited users in the mentioned regions to participate. To join, users can download the TikTok Music app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store or visit music.tiktok.com. Those participating in the closed beta will receive a three-month free trial of the service.
In terms of pricing, TikTok Music subscription costs AUD11.99 ($8.16 USD) per month in Australia, Mex$115 ($6.86 USD) in Mexico, and S$9.90 ($7.48 USD) in Singapore.
While TikTok is gaining popularity as a music discovery platform, this new streaming service brings it into direct competition with giants like Spotify, Apple, and Amazon. The platform offers a host of features, including full versions of viral TikTok songs, personalized music recommendations, real-time lyrics, collaborative playlists with friends, the ability to import your music library, and a lyrics search feature. Additionally, TikTok Music offers a Shazam-like functionality and allows users to download songs for offline listening. The service also emphasizes social interaction, enabling users to express themselves through comments and connect with other music enthusiasts.
TikTok has yet to announce the launch date for the service in the United States, but it has filed a trademark application for “TikTok Music” over a year ago. The company promises more updates and news about TikTok Music’s global expansion in the near future. With TikTok’s immense popularity and its dedication to music discovery, the new music streaming service is poised to make a significant impact in the industry.
